True Love Layout

I couldn't get enough of my niece Skylar when she was born.  She was the first grandchild in our family and my goddaughter.  I was really disappointed when I had to miss her actual birth to administer NYS ELA tests.  I told my sister just to hold on a little bit longer but I guess Skylar just couldn't wait! It's hard to believe she'll be going to kindergarten this fall.
The great part about this layout is versatility of the corner rounder.  By using it on all of the papers and pictures it really softens the layout.  And I created the flower embellishments like the ones pictured on a similar layout in the Idea Book.  I added some ribbon to my original design and used two tone embossing for the title.
This is the layout that my club members completed in May.  If creating this layout is something you'd like to try you can contact me a zabel800@gmail.com.  We create a layout or cards each month at our club gatherings.

Filmstrip: Interactive Layout

I have been wanting to try to do this layout ever since I first put my hands on the "Magic" book.  My son especially loves pulling the filmstrip back and forth to reveal the fourth picture.
I apoligize for the glare on the interactive page. Next time I will remeber to take pictures of the layout before putting it into the protector. I tend to favor interactive options that still allow my pictures to stay protected.

Pictured below is the "Magic" book from Close to my Heart that I used to create the layout above.  People are always saying that they aren't creative enough to scrapbook.  This book is a great resource for helping people with laying out their pictures and paper. Click on the photo of the book for more information.

First Post and May Specials

I've decided to officially join the blogging world.  Close to my Heart will be discontinuing their individual consultant pages so, I thought I would get a jump on posting my creations, thoughts, etc., in a different way.

We are celebrating National Scrapbooking Month in May.  The pictures of the layout above and below all use materials from the You & Me scrabooking kit. When you place a minimum order of $50  for any Close To My Heart products*, you can grab an exclusive You & Me scrapbooking kit for just $15—that’s more than half off the retail value of the kit! Woo-hoo! You can also purchase the kit outright for $34.95.  It features two fully embellished layouts, a D-size stamp set, and an instruction guide to help you through the creation process.  You can shop for these at isabelle.myctmh.com

As part of our promotion, we’re also offering new Consultants who join Close To My Heart in May one FREE You & Me scrapbooking kit plus 50% off their New Consultant Kit! More information on becoming a consultant go to isabelle.myctmh.com

Additionally, I made this card is inspired by a card very similar to this one created by Deneen Treble for the Make it with Heart Contest. I used the Stamp of the month "Chairs to You." If you'd like to purchase it or other scrapbooking and stamping items you can go to isabelle.myctmh.com

If you've made it this far into my post I hope you like what you've seen so far. I know I have some work to do with my photography and blog layout. Please let me know if there is something else you would like to see.

In the meantime, I have a weekend full of family, food, and working out to prepare for. Thanks for reading!
